Swedish National Organic Forum attracts large industry crowd

During Wednesday 30 September, Organic Sweden and KRAV invited the Swedish organic movement and industry to a day-long webinar on current trends and future developments in the sector for organic food. Keynote speaker was Paul Holmbeck  who engineered the process that brought Denmark to the position as the leading country when it comes to organic. The theme was how to coordinate efforts to grow the organic market in Sweden. This discussion is held just as the second Organic September campaign is coming to a close. This year’s event had support from all leading retailers, including ICA.

The event attracted 250 attendees, that listened to parliament politicians as well as industry leaders. There has been some concern that the organic market in Sweden may have reached its peak, but the impression from the speaches, work shops and debates is rather that there is still room for considerable growth. Major players like Martin & Servera, Saltå Kvarn and Arla committed to engage even more in next year’s Organic September.
